The wait is over: the 2021 Kia K5 has finally arrived at Steve Landers Kia! As Kia’s most powerful mid-size sedan ever, the K5 is already disrupting the market and gaining notoriety. With available all-wheel drive, enticing powertrain options and bold style inspired by the Kia Stinger, the K5 may just be the most interesting Kia yet. Here is everything you need to know about the all-new 2021 Kia K5!

It’s been nearly a decade since the 2011 Kia Optima paved the way for Kia Motors expanding their lineup. Now, the Optima is being replaced by the K5, and it’s raising the bar and exceeding expectations of what it means to be a Kia. On sale now, the new K5 is available in four trim levels: LX, LXS, GT-Line, EX. An adrenaline-fueled GT trim level is set to arrive this fall.

Third-Generation N3 Platform

The foundation of the K5’s thrilling new personality is built on a new third-generation N3 platform. This platform allows the K5 to sit longer, lower and wider compared to the Optima. This gives the K5 and aggressive new profile and an optimized center of gravity for a more exciting ride. Built out of sound-deadening materials, the N3 platform also provides a quieter cabin for a better listening experience.

Turbocharged Powertrain Options

The new K5 offers two enticing turbocharged engines and a new available eight-speed dual-clutch transmission for fast and precise gearshifts. Choose from the 290-horsepower 2.5-liter turbocharged engine with the eight-speed dual clutch transmission or the 180-horsepower 1.6-liter turbocharged engine with an all-new eight-speed automatic transmission.

Available all-wheel drive (AWD) provides all-weather capability by actively distributing torque between the front and rear wheels. AWD will be available in late 2020 and it will only be offered with the 1.6-liter engine.

Next-Level Tech

It wouldn’t be a Kia without advanced technology! The all-new 2021 Kia K5 offers a new infotainment system with an available 10.25-inch high-resolution color touchscreen with split-screen functionality, server-based navigation system, new multi-connection Bluetooth wireless connectivity, new wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and available wireless smartphone charging.
