Thanksgiving is next week, can you believe that? We’re keeping our Christmas decorations in the box until December, but the City of North Little Rock is gearing up for the Northern Lights Festival and a celebration of all things Christmas on November 30!

Serving as a dual-purpose event, the Northern Lights Festival marks the grand opening of the Argenta Plaza in the Argenta Arts District and the unveiling of holiday festivities. North Little Rock’s Christmas tree is rumored to be one of the largest in the state, and you can be there for the lighting! Join in the exhilaration and fun as fellow Christmas enthusiasts gather. The Northern Lights Festival will be completely free to the public and is both family-friendly and dog-friendly. You’ll enjoy fireworks, live music, food trucks and even horse-drawn carriage rides up and down Main Street!

Pictures with Santa and writing Christmas Cards for veterans are among the many kid-friendly activities the Northern Lights Festival has to offer! Searching for the perfect Christmas gift? The Northern Lights Festival will have plenty of vendors, all selling craft and artisan goods. Delta Biscuit Company, Fly by Night Coffee and Crepe Coop will bring their delicious treats to the festival and keep your stomach happy as you revel in Christmas joy.

Parking will be free throughout the duration of the festival and members from the Argenta Community Theater’s “A Christmas Carol” will be roaming down Main Street in their costumes from the show! Be sure to stick around for the Big Dam Horns concert and hum along to all of your favorite Christmas songs! For a full schedule, check out the NLR Northern Lights Festival’s Facebook page
